Fred Sirieix welcomes another two food brands to Manchester, where the owners pitch their businesses to high-street investors in the hope of opening their own restaurants. Up this week are Bubble&, the brainchild of husband and wife Rupert and Marita, who want to market bubble-and-squeak as a dish as versatile as pizza and pasta. Also up is former cookery school teacher Jay Morjaria, who has a dream of opening a string of East Asian-inspired restaurants. He has a name for the first one – Dynasty – all he needs now is £600,000 investment.
