Spartacus continues to train in Batiatus’ gladiatorial combat school. His tempestuous co-operation given in exchange for Batiatus’ promise to search for Sura. Meanwhile Batiatus’ money troubles and the drought continue. With the Vulcanalia approaching, Spartacus is determined to get nominated to the primus, the feature attraction, though it means fighting the undefeated Crixus.
